On October 6th 2020, Kimani Foster was in a tragic car accident. Kimani was a transfer student from the College of Staten Island. She wanted to study law so she started her Junior year at John Jay College where she was majoring in Criminal Justice (Crime and prevention). Kimani had a passion for dance. Although she was shy, she would always dance and perform for family and friends throughout her younger years.

She attended MS 113 and took up dance to further her passion. In the 8th grade she worked in the after school program at MS 113 assisting with the younger children. During that time, she joined Lotus Creations Academy for Performing Arts. While dancing with Lotus, she also joined the Travel Team, where traveled all over including and out of the state, to Chicago and Miami just to name a few. The travel team was video recorded and can be found on YouTube.

As time went on she became a Dance Teachers assistant at lotus to help teach the Minnie’s, “her babies” as she would call them. She continued to dance in High school, where she attended Brooklyn HighSchool of the Arts and graduated in 2018. Kimani also found interest in cosmetology, YouTubing and was a big fashionista. She had just started a YouTube channel in which she shared with her best friend Dior, who also passed that very same tragic car crash. They were receiving many followers and were waiting to reach a particular number before posting their first video. Sadly they were unable to reach that goal as their passing occurred during the process. Kimani dreamed of starting her own hair/eyelash line and imagined naming her business “KiLash & HairByKi”. She wanted to make it affordable to all and stated that she would donate because she loved to help people.

Kimani loved taking pictures and making videos. She enjoyed being with her friends, traveling with her family and enjoyed living her best life. Kimani was genuine, fun, loving, caring, kind and sweet. Kimani was a mentor to many people and a one of a kind loyal friend. Kimani had a radiant smile that would brighten up any room. She brought joy to everyone she met and touched the lives of many. To know Kimani was to love her.
